Chinese designer Lin Xiao living in Fusang returns to her ancestral hometown Ningbo to fulfill her late grandfather's final wish, carrying a yellowed old photo of her young grandfather standing beside a cheongsam-clad woman under the rising sun. During her journey, she meets Chen Yang, a young man guarding a century-old family mansion. The pair uncovers a decades-old secret: her grandfather and the woman once risked their lives to protect precious ancient books but were separated by war, sowing misunderstanding between their families.
