High school student Lin Xiaoman is the only "normal" person in her family: her father is a street gang leader, her mother is addicted to gambling and plays tricks, and her elder brother and sister dropped out of school and hang out with social loafers every day. The whole family thinks reading is useless and forces Xiaoman to drop out and make quick money with them, even arranging "social partners" for her from time to time. Xiaoman hides her review materials and stays up late to do exercises, but is always sabotaged by her family: her father secretly sells her exercise books, and her sister steals all her living expenses to go to bars. Facing the drag of her original family and the dream of changing her fate through studying, Lin Xiaoman's road to counterattack is extremely difficult.
