Lin Shen was an infant abandoned in an old alley in the 1970s. When he grows up, he accidentally awakens the bloodline of the "Xuan Du Si"—a mysterious lineage tasked with guarding the human world against evil spirits. But just after accepting the Du Si token, he is chased by evil cultivators to the brink of death, only to be saved by a girl named Xiao Fu holding a koi doll. Xiao Fu not only has "koi luck" that can reverse fortunes, but also keeps saying, "I've been waiting for you for ages"—it turns out she is the incarnation of half a jade pendant Lin Shen had in his arms as a baby, carrying the secret left by his parents who abandoned him: someone is trying to wipe out the Du Si lineage, and Xiao Fu is the key to unlocking Lin Shen's past and fighting the mastermind. As evil spirits emerge one after another, Lin Shen uses his Du Si powers to vanquish demons while searching for his parents. The two go from "savior and saved" to "destined partners," but little do they know a greater crisis is eyeing their "koi luck"...
