Lin Xiaoman, a naive yet skilled apprentice from the Immortal Doctor Valley in the mountains, agrees to replace a wealthy merchant’s daughter to marry Gu Tingxiao, the "wife-killing" cold-faced General of Zhenbei, to save her dying master. On their wedding night, Gu warns her: "If you dare play tricks, you’ll vanish by dawn." But when Gu’s old wound flares up in agony, Xiaoman cures him instantly with acupuncture and magic herbs; when the general’s mansion is thrown into chaos by a蛊 curse, Xiaoman exposes the traitor and breaks the spell. Gradually, the icy general’s gaze softens. Just as their love buds, Xiaoman’s master’s condition worsens suddenly—she must return to the valley. Will she give up their budding love? Will Gu put aside his pride as a general to chase her?
