Lin Yang, a poor young man struggling to pay his mother's medical bills, scavenges for antiques in the market every day, only to be cheated and bullied. Until he's scratched by an ancient jade—suddenly, he can “see” the “time fragments” in antiques: hidden patterns carved by craftsmen in Song Dynasty porcelain bowls, Republic of China banknotes hidden in Qing Dynasty bronze censers. He makes money with this ability but attracts the attention of Zhao Lei, a greedy antique dealer. Zhao Lei tricks him into authenticating a fake “Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain” to frame him, but Lin Yang not only exposes the fake but also sees the smuggling ledger hidden inside! Zhao Lei tries to kill him, but Lin Yang uses his divine vision to find evidence and outwits Zhao Lei. He saves his mother and wins the heart of Su Xiao, the daughter of an antique shop owner—Su Xiao had long been moved by his sincerity and secretly helped him gather Zhao Lei's crimes.
