Lin Wan, an office worker crushed by the workplace, suddenly receives an anonymous mission: "Win over Gu Jingshen, the president of Huichuan Group." Thinking it’s a chance to turn the tide, she grits her teeth and deploys all her schemes: delivering wrong documents to create chance encounters, crashing a cocktail party to block drinks for him, even pretending to be lost to get a ride. But Gu Jingshen seems to have read the script in advance—he not only catches every move of hers but also turns the tables: "Ms. Lin, did you miss the key element 'sincerity' in your hunting plan?" Just when she thinks she’s lost completely, the truth hits her like a bombshell—she’s the last heiress of a consortium that retired a decade ago, and Gu Jingshen is the "shadow guardian" who’s protected her for ten years. The so-called "love hunt" is nothing but his plan using the entire business empire: it’s not about her hunting him, but about him giving himself—along with his empire—to her. Turns out, the top hunter is never the pursuer, but the one who turns himself into prey.
