Shen Zhixia, a junior official in the Hanlin Academy, musters all her courage to beg Gu Huaizhou—the most powerful minister in the court—to save her wronged father. But before she can speak, she’s stopped by guards. Overwhelmed with panic and tears, she impulsively throws herself into Gu’s arms, sobbing, “Please save my father, Lord Gu”—unaware that the usually icy minister’s ear tips have turned bright red. Little does she know, Gu has long noticed this little girl who always leaves osmanthus cakes outside the imperial study, even hiding her poetry drafts secretly. He just never expected her to “crash” into his arms like this… A crying plea accidentally reveals the feelings he’s hidden for half a year.
