Lin Xiaoman, a corporate slave, has a mysterious tenant named Gu Yuan move into her rental. He always leaves a bowl of warm porridge for her when she comes home late from overtime, and silently steadies the chair when she stands on it to fix the light—filling her empty life like a gentle wind. But just as Xiaoman finally dares to face her racing heart, Gu Yuan vanishes without a trace, leaving only a letter: "I came to fulfill Grandpa's promise, but I don't dare stay and make you gamble on tomorrow with me." It turns out Gu Yuan is the grandson of Xiaoman's late neighbor Grandpa, and also a heart patient who could collapse at any moment. When Xiaoman rushes to the hospital with his scarf left on the sofa, the man on the bed is clutching her photo, his lips curled into an unspoken "I can't bear to leave."
