Lin Xiaoman, a workplace slacking expert, is sent to a cooperating library as a "stationed employee" due to three consecutive months of bottom performance. She plans to continue slacking, but accidentally triggers the "Library Counterattack System" while flipping through an old book—only by solving problems for the "special readers" who come for help can she unlock the opportunity to return to her job and get a raise. These readers are more bizarre than the last: an ancient scholar who travels from the past to find a "modern imperial exam guide," an office worker who wants to borrow an "Immortality Entry Manual," a sweet drama screenwriter who needs to look up "how to chase a cold boss"... Lin Xiaoman uses the "slacking skills" she has accumulated (finding books quickly by intuition, dealing with oddballs with sharp words) to pass all the levels perfectly. She also accidentally sparks a romance with Gu Chuan, the cold library administrator—turns out Gu Chuan is the system's "observer" who has long noticed her "slacking talent." Just when she thinks she is about to succeed in her counterattack, the system suddenly issues the ultimate task: help herself find the "original intention of slacking"? With laughter and reversals, the counterattack of the slacking genius starts with "seriously helping others"!
