Lin Wan, a notoriously cold beauty CEO in the business circle, is forced by her father to take on Gu Chuan—a retired special forces soldier with a rumored hotter temper—as her bodyguard right after returning to China. She tries to put him in his place: scattering documents for him to pick up, making him buy hard-to-find artisanal coffee at 3 AM. But Gu Chuan always completes tasks flawlessly and retorts: “Ms. Lin, your triple-sugar coffee matches your ‘tough exterior but soft heart’.” When Lin Wan is targeted in a scheme and cornered in a parking lot, Gu Chuan takes a beer bottle hit for her. Bleeding, he smirks: “Now believe I’m not a freeloader?” As Lin Wan touches his burning wound, she realizes this “attitude-taming” man has long snuck into her heart.
