Lin Xiaoman guards the "Tide Rose Garden" left by her late mother, stubbornly cultivating rare roses that only bloom at midnight. Her peace is shattered by an anonymous order to book the entire garden's blooming period—from Lu Chuan, her ex-boyfriend who disappeared without a word five years ago. He returns with secrets, helping Xiaoman repair the suddenly withered roses while avoiding the truth of his past departure. Just as a demolition notice from a real estate developer arrives at the garden gate, Xiaoman discovers Lu Chuan is the developer's son and believes this is a "scheme in the name of love". But on a night when the roses bloom, she catches him kneeling at her mother's grave, holding the love letter she wrote years ago, sobbing: "I never wanted to destroy your roses."
