Five-year-old Lin Xiaoman, the tiny Maoshan Taoist, just took over guarding the mountain gate when she stumbled upon a “naughty old man” making chaos in the Ancestral Hall—Ye Wuwang, the missing-for-a-century ancestor even the current掌门 (headmaster) calls “Grand Master”! The ancestor wanted to tease the little bun, but instead, Xiaoman压制 (suppressed) him with “Article 88 of Maoshan Ancestral Rules: No bullying the little ones in the gate!” and “controlled” his stomach with rock sugar gourd and osmanthus cake. Before their banter ended, developers arrived with excavators to demolish the gate. Xiaoman burst into tears, but the ancestor suddenly flew into a rage: “Who dares touch my Maoshan kid? Get past me first!” Turns out the naughtiest ancestor had already given his softest protection to the sweetest kid.
