Retired teacher Lin Xiuying, suffering from Alzheimer's, gradually loses herself in a labyrinth of fragmented memories. She sometimes mistakes her daughter for a stranger, while at other times becomes immersed in sorrowful events from decades past. When her daughter attempts to awaken her mother's memory with old photographs and mementos, she accidentally uncovers a long-buried family secret. Amidst the disorienting shifts of time, love and memory engage in a heart-wrenching tug-of-war.
