Three years ago on New Year's Eve, Lin Shen, the illegitimate son of the Sheng family, was expelled for "embezzlement". He wandered the streets with his mother's ashes, glaring at the brightly lit Sheng mansion in hatred. Now, he's back as "Chen Mo", a sharp capital hunter from an overseas investment bank, infiltrating the Sheng family's rival company to uncover the truth: his cousin Sheng Mingyuan framed him to seize the inheritance. But on his revenge path, he falls for Sheng Wantang, Sheng Mingyuan's sister and the only sane member of the Sheng family. When another New Year's Eve arrives, the Sheng patriarch suddenly announces his will—leaving all shares to Lin Shen! Desperate, Sheng Mingyuan kidnaps Wantang, forcing Lin Shen to give up everything. Just as Lin Shen is about to compromise for love, Wantang pulls out a recorder with a smile—she'd recognized his identity long ago and secretly collected evidence of Sheng Mingyuan's crimes. Amidst the fireworks of the national celebration, Lin Shen reclaims his lost "empire" and realizes: more than revenge, a home with Wantang is what truly matters.
