In Republican-era Shanghai, the Shen family's embroidery workshop "Shen Jintang" was framed and went bankrupt, with its young master Shen Muyuan dying unexpectedly. To uncover the truth, his sister Shen Muyao returned from abroad disguised as a man, infiltrating the rival merchant house "Mingyuanzhai" as "Master Shen". She stood out with her family's inherited gold thread embroidery skills, but caught the eye of Gu Shiyan, the skeptical young master of "Mingyuanzhai"—he tested "Master Shen's" identity while being drawn to her tenacity and talent. Meanwhile, Shen Muyao hid her female identity, gathered evidence for revenge, and plotted to revive Shen Jintang. As the fog of revenge lifted, their feelings quietly grew under the guise of "brothers". Can she avenge her brother, revive the family business, and gain love that transcends identity?
