Modern sisters Lin Wantang and Lin Wanzhao accidentally transmigrated to ancient times together. Wantang, the elder, insisted on opening a girls' academy in the rigidly Confucian capital, teaching young women reading and accounting. Wanzhao, the younger, made a fortune by inventing soap and glass with her science knowledge. But their "unorthodox" ways soon got them into trouble: the county magistrate wanted to shut down the academy for "corrupting morals," noble ladies fought over soap on the street, Wantang's scholar boyfriend was forced into an arranged marriage, and Wanzhao's marquis suitor asked her to "be a proper woman." The sisters refused to compromise: Wanzhao cured the magistrate's mother's chronic illness with soap to save the academy, while Wantang let the academy girls' "voices of women" spread across the capital. When the rebellious sisters face the iron wall of feudal etiquette, can they protect the "modern flame" in their hearts?
