In the late years of the Daqian Dynasty, famine swept the land. Su Xiaochuan, a refugee with a "koi fate" who always found food to survive, accidentally saved Shen Zhaoning—she was the late emperor's orphan, hiding the imperial seal to restore the kingdom, and being hunted by the regent. To stay under the radar, they pretended to be a "blessed rural couple with many children". But Su Xiaochuan, who seemed carefree, was actually the descendant of a general who guarded the late emperor's mausoleum, having long earned the trust of fellow refugees. When the regent's army approached, Su took out the late emperor's military talisman and rallied the refugees into an army, turning the tide of the battle. He protected Shen Zhaoning's quest to restore the kingdom and guarded the people's land. It turned out that the "koi fate" was never luck—it was the kindness and responsibility he had hidden in the marketplace, which finally brought him love and a peaceful kingdom.
