After losing her job, Lin Xiaoman returns to her hometown Joy Town and takes over her grandma's old house to open "Xiaoman Café". On the opening day, she encounters Chen Mo, her first love who disappeared seven years ago—once the boy who broke up with her saying "I'm not good enough for you", now he's the beloved "warm-hearted general practitioner" at the community hospital. Their reunion is awkward yet filled with lingering affection, and the café becomes a stage for the heartwarming stories of Joy Town's residents: an old couple who bicker but secretly save money for their grandson's school admission, a young entrepreneur who gets order support from the neighbors after a business failure, even the retired head teacher comes to vent about "empty-nest anxiety". Just as Lin thinks life is settling down, Chen Mo takes out the un-sent glass marble—the token of their childhood love—and reveals the truth about his disappearance: he had worked illegal jobs to raise money for Lin's mother's surgery and broke his leg, leaving because he didn't want to be a burden. At this moment, Lin receives a re-employment offer from her former company in Beijing—will she choose her career or a future with Chen Mo?
