Qiao Jiale and her wealthy best friend Wen Qing accidentally travel back to 1978, becoming the bullied sisters-in-law of the Li family in the countryside—Qiao is a "burden" oppressed by her vicious mother-in-law, while Wen is an "outsider" tricked by her cheating husband. From bickering to allying, they outsmart the mother-in-law's daily harassment, expose the scumbag's affair plot, and even rally the "doormat" mother-in-law (also despised by the family) to their side. Three women fight their way to happiness in the down-to-earth life of the 70s. But when the scumbag tries to reconcile and the vicious mother-in-law uses a pity trick to snatch custody, can they hold onto their hard-won new life?
