Fresh graduate Lin Xiaoman rents Room 404 in the old-town “Fuxing Li” to save money. On her first night, she hears the eerie sound of nails scratching the door—but no one is outside when she looks through the peephole. Every night at 12 o’clock since then, a strange woman’s face appears in the bathroom mirror.
