Lin Xiaoman, a newly graduated community mediator, takes on a "short-weight" dispute in the old street—Aunt Zhou, who has sold soy milk for 20 years, is suddenly accused by supermarket owner Chen Ge of "cheating customers" and faces having her license revoked. During her investigation, Xiaoman discovers Chen's "evidence" is fake; he actually wants to force Aunt Zhou to give up her stall to expand his supermarket. But when Xiaoman presents the surveillance footage, Chen turns the tables and accuses her of "favoring acquaintances". Just as Aunt Zhou is about to be crushed by public opinion, the usually quiet neighbors step forward: one holds a notebook of Aunt Zhou's free breakfasts for elderly loners, another pulls out WeChat records of Aunt Zhou waiving Chen's bill three years ago, and even Chen's mother speaks up for Aunt Zhou—"She's brought me hot porridge for five years, closer than my own son." In the end, Chen apologizes. Watching the surrounding neighbors, Xiaoman suddenly understands: Justice is never cold evidence—it's the warmth accumulated in people's hearts.
