Lin Xiaotian, a young Taoist from the secluded Qingyun Mountain, is forced to enter the city by his master's order: "Go down the mountain to undergo tribulation and retrieve the sect's treasure." As soon as he steps out of the high-speed railway station, he's bound to the "Urban Cultivation Mission System"—his first task is to block coffee for the cold female CEO Su Wanqing! He uses his item-control spell to suspend the coffee mid-air, only to make Su Wanqing scream "Security!" in terror. Worse, the system deems the task a failure and threatens to deduct his "immortal power value"? To get back the treasure, Lin Xiaotian clings to Su Wanqing, using clumsy "modern cultivation tricks" to solve her workplace crises (like using a mind-clearing spell at a business dinner, which makes the client hug the toilet and yell "Fellow Taoist!") while hiding his identity. But as they grow closer, he discovers Su Wanqing's "life calamity" is linked to the treasure—and his master's real reason for sending him down the mountain holds a bigger secret...
