Su Xiaoyu, a "little fishergirl" from a fishing village in eastern Zhejiang, ventures to Shanghai alone to raise money for her grandmother's surgery. She accidentally stumbles into "Jiangshan Banquet," a crucial scheme by real estate tycoon Lu Jingshen to fight for his family's inheritance. Lu initially despises her as a "wild village girl" for ruining his plan, but gradually falls for her after she calms an angry elderly homeowner with a fishing song and cures his stomach trouble with her pickled fish recipe. Just as Su thinks she's finally settled in the city, she uncovers Lu's "scheme": he's going to acquire her village to build a resort island! However, the twist comes even faster—years ago, Lu was saved by an old man from the village after a shipwreck, and the little girl who sang him a fishing song was exactly Su; behind his acquisition plan is a desire to stop unscrupulous developers from reclaiming the sea and protect her "fishing life." When "interest calculation" collides with "mutual protection," two people who were originally parallel finally tie their lives together in "fishing life" and "career ambition."
