Their relationship shifts from mutual disdain to Rong Jing secretly shielding her, and Zhaozhao even uses her life-bound talisman to take a fatal blow for him. When Rong Jing confesses, “I’d trade the empire for your lifelong warmth,” Zhaozhao smiles and takes out her Heavenly Master seal: “I’ve long foreseen—you’re my ‘calamity’… a sweet one.”
