Jing Lu, the only daughter of General Jingyuan, picked up the dying teenager Wang Huilong when she was seven and hid him in the Plum Fragrance Courtyard of the General's Mansion, accompanying him day and night to teach him reading and swordsmanship. On the Lantern Festival night seven years later, Wang Huilong left half a jade pendant and suddenly disappeared. Rumors spread that he was a hostage prince of Northern Yan returning to fight for the throne. Jing Lu thought she was just a stepping stone in his revenge—until Northern Yan's iron cavalry approached the city. She put on her father's silver armor and led the army to resist, only to see Wang Huilong in the enemy formation remove his mask and call her "A Lu". It turned out he never left; instead, he sneaked into Northern Yan's court to overthrow powerful ministers, just to protect her from court intrigue and reclaim the throne, so he could marry her openly.
