Gu Jingshen, the retired heir of a powerful clan, hides in the city running a café to escape a forced marriage, only to encounter Su Wan, a mysterious "Rakshasa Woman"—rumored to possess the "Rakshasa Bone" that can determine the kingdom's fate, she's pursued by countless ruthless killers seeking the bone. Gu intended to stay indifferent, but when Su Wan takes a knife for him, he discovers this "tough" woman will cover his outdoor ledger on rainy nights and hide warm sugar-fried chestnuts under the counter for him. When pursuers surround the café, Gu finally drops his disguise—he is the "Dark King" who holds half of the empire's military power. Yet an even bigger twist awaits: Su Wan's "Rakshasa Bone" is a fake she made herself—she's merely diverting danger for the real "kingdom key"—Gu Jingshen himself. And her original "utilitarian" intention has long turned into a true heart that "wants to grow old with him" during those coffee-scented mornings they spent together.
