Modern food blogger Su Xiaotang accidentally travels through time and becomes the personal chef of Gu Yuan, a cold-faced general suspected by the royal family. With the idea of "conquering the kingdom with food", she brings Gu Yuan specially made drumsticks every day—they not only nourish his body weakened from late-night plotting, but also secretly help him defuse crises: when he's ambushed and poisoned, it's the herbs in the drumstick that save him; when he falls out with an old subordinate, it's her "Reunion Chicken" that reconciles them. Just as Gu Yuan is about to ascend the throne, Su Xiaotang packs to return to modern times to sell fried chicken—only to be pulled into Gu Yuan's arms: "The kingdom is yours, and I'm yours too—from now on, two more drumsticks every day."
