Yu Shuzheng, a meticulous ancient book restorer, runs his grandfather's old bookstore. One day, he receives a torn half of the ancient collection *Suyuci* from Yu'er, a reckless online romance novelist—she tore the family heirloom while rummaging through her grandfather's belongings for writing inspiration. To make amends, Yu'er insists on staying as an "apprentice," pestering Yu Shuzheng to learn restoration. From constant bickering to working together to decode the old love letters hidden in the broken scroll, they discover the volume is an unfinished love token from Yu's ancestors. Little do they know, their encounter is already a "rewritten chapter" fate has prepared for them.
