Lin Wan, a restaurant waitress, becomes the Bai family's 'treasured favorite' after helping a fallen elderly lady pick up medicine. Mrs. Bai visits the restaurant daily just for her service, but her grandson Bai Jingchuan accuses her of 'climbing the social ladder' and secretly investigates. He finds Lin Wan works days as a waitress and nights at odd jobs to fund her mother's critical illness. When Bai Jingchuan confronts her with the truth, Mrs. Bai pulls out a silver lock engraved with 'Wan' and says: 'This is my granddaughter missing for 20 years!' Lin Wan was abducted as a child, and the lock is the Bai family heirloom. Only then does Lin Wan realize the 'favor' is her grandmother's two-decade search.
