On the day her adoptive father passed away, Lin Wan, an adopted daughter, was driven out of the house by her stepsister Gu Man on the grounds of "bringing bad luck to her father". She was also told that the Gu family business had long gone bankrupt due to her "extravagance". Desperate, she returned to the old Gu family warehouse—the "ruins" filled with memories—and accidentally found her adoptive father’s diary: it turned out that she was the granddaughter of the late old chairman of the Gu family, and Gu Man’s family had designed to kill her parents years ago to seize the family property. With clues from the diary, Lin Wan joined hands with the old employees left by her adoptive father, collecting evidence of Gu Man’s conspiracy while reviving the Gu family’s old brand. Finally, at the reconstruction ceremony of the Gu family, she put on the jade brooch left by her adoptive father—that "queen’s coronation" was not a gift of blood, but a medal of courage for her stepping through the ruins.
