In a military art troupe during China's Cultural Revolution, dancer Lin Xiaofang and privileged youth Liu Feng fall into a pure romance. Forced to marry an officer's son, Xiaofang watches Liu enlist for war. Two decades later, the wheelchair-bound Liu reunites with divorced Xiaofang at a community college, where their long-buried feelings finally blossom through the dance steps of their youth.
