In Bianjing of the Northern Song Dynasty, the top restaurant Fan Pavilion is about to be forcefully acquired by colluding officials and merchants. Su Wantang, the young heir, disguises herself as a waiter, determined to keep her father’s last legacy. But one day, a wandering painter Gu Zhao with a bronze token breaks in—he not only sees through her disguise but also claims that the “Guixu Treasure” of the former royal family is buried under the pavilion, a secret that could turn Bianjing upside down. As officials start sealing the restaurant for investigation, and as the former dynasty’s guard tattoo on Gu Zhao’s sword is exposed, Su Wantang realizes: what she’s defending is not just the restaurant, but the secrets under the bricks; what she’s risking is not just her family business, but a life-or-death game of whether Gu Zhao is friend or foe.
