Lin Chuan, a modern engineering graduate, is reborn as a low-level technician in a 1985 state-owned machinery factory. Watching the factory waste millions on outdated imported equipment, he’s furious—why let his country repeat avoidable mistakes when he has 20 years of future tech knowledge? He upgrades old machines with microcontrollers, proposes industry-university-research partnerships, and even bets on new energy before it’s trendy. But everyone calls him crazy: the factory director says he’s “breaking rules,” his father (a workshop foreman) thinks he’s “unreliable,” and even his crush (the factory’s most popular girl) believes he’s lost his mind. That changes when his modified machines boost efficiency tenfold, university collaborations bring patents, and the new energy project rakes in profits. Just as he starts proving himself, a bigger threat hits—someone accuses him of “stealing state secrets,” and his reborn secret is on the verge of exposure… Can he stay true to his mission and use his “shortcut” to turn his country into a tech powerhouse early?
