In high school, Lin Xiaoman and Xu Zhao promised to watch ginkgo leaves at their alma mater in "the 28th autumn". But Xu Zhao vanished suddenly before the college entrance exam. Twenty-eight years later, Xiaoman, now an architect, returns home to renovate the old school building. She meets a carpenter named "A Zhao"—he holds the ginkgo leaf with their promises, yet claims "I don't remember you". But he can perfectly recreate the desk patterns from their high school days. When the old wall's paint peels off, revealing Xu Zhao's carved words "Waiting for you", Xiaoman learns the truth: Xu Zhao was hit by a car saving her, losing his memory. All these years, he's been guarding the school, using carpentry to piece together fragments of "Xiaoman"—and that ginkgo leaf is his only unforgotten "clue"...
