Lin Xiaoman is the workplace's "scapegoat" and "queen of bad luck"—she trips over manhole covers every time, and only finds out her milk tea is salty when she takes the last sip. Until her 25th birthday, Gu Shen, her first love who disappeared six years ago, sends a letter "from seven years later". Inside are their first-date milk tea wrapper and a talking "Rainbow System": "To get him back, turn your tears into a rainbow~" While fighting her supervisor for project credit, she follows clues to Gu Shen's "dim light marks" (like the cat bed hiding his cultivation diary?). Lin Xiaoman learns: Six years ago, Gu Shen joined a "time-freezing" cultivation scheme to save her, and his return depends on every moment she holds back tears and smiles at life... When the seventh-year rainbow rises, Gu Shen stands in his old white shirt, holding sweet milk tea: "I saved my return with six years of dim light. Now, let me turn your tears into rainbows for you."
