Lin Xiaoman, an urban white-collar worker, faces career setbacks and catches her boyfriend cheating. One late night, she finds an injured golden retriever named "Xiao Zhong" in an alley. From then on, Xiao Zhong becomes her "healing switch"—warming her feet during overtime, comforting her with wet eyes when she breaks down. But on the day Xiaoman gets promoted, Xiao Zhong suddenly disappears. It’s only when she tracks down an old house in the suburbs that she uncovers the dog’s "mission": Xiao Zhong was the companion of an elderly man Xiaoman helped half a year ago, who asked the dog to "watch over that kind girl" before passing away. Holding the lost-and-found Xiao Zhong, Xiaoman realizes: the warmest companionship is always a two-way journey.
