In the 1980s, Lin Wan, a worker at a state-owned textile factory, was labeled "jinxed" for refusing to marry the factory director's son. She had no choice but to marry Gu Shen, an unemployed "kept man." After marriage, Gu Shen did all the housework—washing clothes, cooking, picking her up from work—only to be mocked by the entire factory as a "sponge," even her own mother scolded her for "being blind." Until one day, the factory director's son destroyed Lin Wan's street stall and threatened to drive her out of the county. Gu Shen, who always bowed his head, suddenly stood up and pulled out a gilded business card: "This is my trading company. We'll acquire your factory tomorrow." It turns out this "househusband" who made her brown sugar ginger tea is a retired special forces soldier and a hidden tycoon in Jiangbei! Next, all those who bullied her were slapped in the face: the rumor-mongering colleague received a lawyer's letter, the factory director's son lost all his supply, and neighbors came to apologize with gifts. Lin Wan finally realized—this "kept man" had been protecting her with all his heart.
