Lin Xiaoman, an intern screenwriter, takes a high-paying job pretending to be top star Lu Xingye’s hidden wife to save her critically ill grandma, forcing her to live with the “ice-cold idol”. Lu, who seems unapproachable, hides a secret—he’s trapped in the “perfect idol” persona to pay for his sister’s medical bills. Xiaoman’s straightforwardness and sincerity gradually break his walls: she leaves a warm lamp on for his late nights and defends him against haters. But when paparazzi snap their intimate photos, a media storm hits—Lu’s career is on the brink of collapse, and Xiaoman is cyberbullied for “leeching off fame”. Then, Xiaoman finds an old milk tea cup in Lu’s drawer—it’s the one she gave a “down-and-out boy” outside a convenience store on a rainy night three years ago. Turns out, this “contract cohabitation” was never an accident—it’s his three-year-long “mutual affection” all along?
