Modern ceramic artist Su Wan accidentally travels back to the Qingqiu Kiln Village of the Daning Dynasty while repairing a broken porcelain vase inscribed with "The Glazed Beloved". She crashes into the arms of Gu Zhao, a young kiln owner firing secret glazes. Gu Zhao, whose family was massacred for their ancestral glaze recipe, hides the secret that "The Glazed Beloved" can召回 souls. He’s both suspicious and shocked by Su Wan—she can understand his ten-year glaze manuscripts at a glance and always talks about strange things like "high-temperature reducing flame" and "glaze formula charts". Su Wan wants to collect the vase shards to return home, but as she helps Gu Zhao evade追杀 and restore the lost secret glaze, she discovers her fingertip blood can reattach the broken porcelain. And the portrait of "the one waited for a thousand years" that Gu Zhao carved into the kiln wall? It looks exactly like her.
