Hermit healer Ye Ling follows his late master's wife's last wish to descend the mountain, seeking Gu Wanqing—the Gu family's daughter betrothed to him years ago. Upon arriving in Jiangcheng, he witnesses Gu Wanqing being forced by her family to marry a playboy rich second-generation, and is publicly humiliated as a "country quack unworthy of the Gu family". Ye Ling intended to认亲 quietly, but when Gu Wanqing suddenly has a heart attack, he's forced to use his Xuanmen medical skills to save her—uncovering the truth about Gu's father's old injury: it was poisoned by a business rival! Faced with his fiancee's resistance, family contempt, and the villain's relentless threats, Ye Ling decides to use his hermit healer powers to tear apart Jiangcheng's darkness: protect his bride, honor his master's wife, and make those who looked down on him beg on their knees!
