On her first day as a rookie detective, Lin Xiaoman witnesses the death of her mentor Zhou Hai—he’s curled up in an old wardrobe in a downtown building, clutching a note that reads ‘The Wardrobe Man’ with a face full of terror. During the investigation, she discovers Zhou’s death is highly consistent with the decade-old ‘wardrobe serial disappearance case’: all five victims had contact with the same type of old wardrobe before vanishing, and Zhou’s fingerprints are on the murder scene’s wardrobe. When she, the sarcastic forensic doctor Chen Mo, and veteran detective Zhou Jianguo close in on the truth, a brutal twist is revealed: ‘The Wardrobe Man’ is both the wrongfully killed victim from years ago and the ‘avenger’ hiding inside the police force. And Zhou’s death? It’s just the ‘key’ to unlocking the long-buried truth…
