Lin Wan, a new intern at a top law firm, accidentally breaks the limited-edition pen of Gu Jingshen, the cold-hearted partner, on her first day. She defiantly says, "I'll pay you back, but don't trouble me." Expecting to be targeted, she's surprised when Gu secretly backs her up—handing key evidence for her to fight for a cleaner's unpaid wages, shielding her from a difficult client's harassment. Lin Wan senses Gu's tenderness but, scarred by her ex, avoids getting close, so she "flirts and flees": slipping him a hot milk tea then running away, brushing his hand when borrowing documents then snatching it back. Until her ex harasses her—Gu suddenly appears, pulling her into his arms: "No one touches my girl." Turns out he's long loved this spirited, brave little lawyer. With Gu's support, Lin Wan goes from a "workplace nobody" to a capable lawyer, humiliating all who looked down on her. Finally, they confess their feelings and get a sweet happily-ever-after.
