Top modern clay sculptor Lin Xiaoman accidentally transmigrates to 1980 as five-year-old "Lucky Bao," a girl abandoned by relatives. Penniless but with exceptional skills, she makes a "Lucky Doll Sending Joy" from roadside mud, which catches the eye of Gu Shen, a woodcarver collecting intangible cultural heritage in the countryside. He takes her back to his workshop, but Gu Shen's master, who deems Lucky Bao "unlucky" for losing her parents, tries to kick her out—until Lucky Bao uses her clay works to secure a big foreign trade order and turns Gu Shen's wooden dolls into "smiling little birthday stars," saving the failing workshop. Just as their bond deepens, Gu Shen receives a letter from his city girlfriend... Lucky Bao holds up a newly made clay sculpture of them and asks in a milky voice: "Brother Gu, is this bride me?"
