Su Xiaotang, betrayed at work and grieving her mother, takes an old town renovation job to pay debts—only to meet Gu Jinchuan, a former architectural prodigy hiding here since his sister’s accident. He resents all “renovations” and shuts out the world. From clashes to healing: Xiaotang helps him rediscover design’s warmth, while Jinchuan teaches her to keep her初心 (original heart) in a cutthroat industry. Late-night balcony repairs, standing together against developer threats—two broken souls finally dare to embrace light. When the old alley becomes a “street of memories” full of life, they learn: the most touching “against the current” is piecing broken lives into sweetness… with you.
