Lin Xiaoman, a corporate slave, just got cheated on by her scumbag boyfriend, had her client stolen by her green-tea best friend, and was fired from the museum for "damaging cultural relics". When she's at her lowest, a cold-faced man named Gu Yan—who claims to be "the reincarnation of the Monkey King"—suddenly appears. Turns out, he's a researcher from a future tech company, carrying a chip that can awaken the spirits of Journey to the West heroes, and Lin Xiaoman is the only "Contractor" who can activate it! To turn her life around, Lin agrees to team up with Gu: using the Golden Eyes to expose the green tea's fake pregnancy, using the Thirty-Six Transformations to make the scumbag feel "cheated on", and even borrowing Sand Monk's "Steady Mind Technique" to win over a tough client... But as they fall for each other, Gu's hidden secret emerges: behind the chip lies a crisis of "spirits going out of control" in the future, and Lin's fate was already tied to Gu 500 years ago during the Westward Journey to fetch scriptures?
