Lin Wan is an undercover cop planted by the police beside gang boss Gu Jinchuan, posing as his secretary for two years to gather evidence of his crimes. But as she gets closer, she discovers that beneath Gu's 'ruthlessness' lies a secret: avenging his wrongfully killed brother and taking down a transnational drug ring. When she struggles between 'upholding her mission' or 'standing by his side,' Gu pulls out a yellowed protection agreement—revealing he's long known her identity and even secretly sent men to save her when she was ambushed during a mission. On the eve of their joint operation to take down the mastermind, the police suddenly send an urgent order: 'Arrest Gu Jinchuan immediately—he's the core figure of the drug syndicate!' Lin is completely panicked—was everything she believed a lie? Her choice will directly determine their lives and the fate of this 'forbidden love.'
