In 1980s rural western Henan, ten childhood friends made a solemn pact under a century-old locust tree: "Return home in ten years to guard the old courtyard together". Thirty years later, nine of them returned one after another, except for the most mischievous Gou Dan. When they gathered at the old house, the widely feared ghost stories about the locust tree suddenly came true, with bizarre happenings occurring nonstop. It was not until an old relic left by Gou Dan was discovered that everyone realized the so-called "ghosts" were just childhood misunderstandings, and the old locust tree had silently guarded their unspoken youthful friendship and unfinished promise.
