Su Xiaoman, a new advertising planner, faces a million-yuan compensation for a proposal mistake. Unexpectedly, Gu Jingchuan, the group's president, hands her a "Ten-Thousand-Fold Compensation for Failure Contract" — requiring her to be his personal assistant, with compensation doubling for each mistake. Su Xiaoman thinks she's run into a "devil boss," but gradually finds that Gu Jingchuan's "difficulties" are all undisguised tenderness: the hot cocoa during overtime is always at the right temperature, his back shielding her from client toasts is brighter than the streetlights, and even the cilantro she hates has quietly disappeared from the office fridge. Until one day, she finds an old photo in Gu Jingchuan's wallet — it's herself in elementary school, handing a fruit candy to a little boy crouching in the corner. It turns out that on a rainy night ten years ago, Su Xiaoman saved Gu Jingchuan from bullying, and he has been looking for her for a decade. The so-called "ten-thousand-fold compensation" is just his unspoken "I want to be with you."
