Eager to stay healthy and live longer, the mother-in-law is fooled by frauds posing as divine doctors, who trick her into spending her entire 80,000 yuan pension savings on overpriced “magic medicine”. When the daughter-in-law notices the anomaly in the passbook and confronts her, she accidentally finds the suspicious medicine box hidden by the mother-in-law. The daughter-in-law calms herself down to comfort the mother-in-law on the surface but secretly investigates with her sister-in-law behind the scenes. They follow clues from the box to unearth a fraud gang lurking around the community, and learn unexpectedly that the mother-in-law was scammed before but kept it secret. The estrangement between the two generations is resolved during the investigation, and finally the money is recovered, the frauds arrested, and their relationship grows closer.
