Su Wan, a modern cultural relic restorer, accidentally travels back to a Northern Song border town when touching the "Reverse Fragrance" totem on an ancient box. There, she meets General Gu Zhao, the border general who looks exactly like the man in her dreams. But the next second, she uncovers a cruel truth: Gu Zhao's fate is already sealed in the "Book of Destiny"—he will die in three days when the city falls, and she is the "ominous star" leading him to his death! To rewrite their fate, Su Wan uses modern knowledge to help Gu Zhao defend the city, while revealing the secret of "Reverse Fragrance": a millennium ago, they were a painter and princess in love, but died for love due to a misunderstanding. This reunion is a "second chance" from fate. However, when Gu Zhao discovers her identity as a "time traveler", when the beacon fire reignites on the city wall, and when the words in the "Book of Destiny" start "self-healing", can they break the cycle of "meeting equals tragedy"?
